Rear Axle Speed Sensors

Rear axle speed sensors have flat pole sensors with radial tappings. On 928S models, sensors are inserted in the wheel carrier. The pulse gear wheel is built directly onto the outer axle shaft. On 944 models, speed sensors are installed in trailing arms. The pulse gear is machined in end of drive axle shaft.

On all models, speed sensors must be seated against stop to give about .013" (.35 mm) clearance between sensor and pulse gear wheel.
