Economy Control

  1. Check voltage on 2-pin plug next to the DME control unit. Plug on the left is for economy control and upshift indicator (square version). The plug on the right is for altitude correction box (round version).
  2. Terminal 1 (Black wire) should have battery voltage with ignition turned on. Terminal 2 of 2-pin plug will have the injection signal with the engine running and can be seen with the help of an oscilloscope. The injection signal increases in width as speed picks up. See Fig 1 .
  3. The tachometer must be removed (plugs remain connected) to measure the hall sensor signals in the speedometer. Terminal 5 and "H+" should have battery voltage with ignition turned on.
  4. Connect voltmeter on terminal "HG" (Hall sensor pulse). Lift and turn left front wheel slowly by hand. Voltage should rise and drop 4 times from less than one volt to more than 6 volts for each wheel revolution (square wave pulses).
