Forward Clutch: Disassembly

Using screwdriver, pry clutch pack retaining snap ring from clutch drum. Withdraw pressure plate, forward planetary ring gear, lined and steel clutch plates, and thrust plate.
On E-Mode models, remove spring washer, spring, spring plate, spring retaining ring with springs, spring support ring and circlip. See Fig 1 .
On all other models, carefully pry out diaphragm spring snap ring. Remove diaphragm spring. Lift clutch piston. If necessary, use compressed air to force clutch piston from drum. See Fig 2 .
