Upshift Indicator

NOTE: If the upshift indicator malfunctions, perform same tests as for testing the Economy Control, using the following additional tests.
  1. Check coolant temperature gauge in instrument cluster for proper operation. Signal comes from tachometer terminal 4 and is sent to the instrument cluster.
  2. Terminal 6 of tachometer should have the ignition pulse (ignition coil terminal 1) with the engine running. If a defect is not found after trouble shooting the economy control or upshift indicator, check power flow in wires and contact of wires or, if necessary, replace tachometer.
