Upshift Indicator
NOTE:
If the upshift indicator malfunctions, perform same tests as for testing the Economy Control, using the following additional tests.
- Check coolant temperature gauge in instrument cluster for proper operation. Signal comes from tachometer terminal 4 and is sent to the instrument cluster.
- Terminal 6 of tachometer should have the ignition pulse (ignition coil terminal 1) with the engine running. If a defect is not found after trouble shooting the economy control or upshift indicator, check power flow in wires and contact of wires or, if necessary, replace tachometer.
