Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the timing chain cover oil seal.
    2. IMPORTANT: Keep the lip free from foreign matter.
  2. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.

    IMPORTANT: Wipe off extra grease from the crankshaft.
  3. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.
  4. Install the crankshaft pulley.
  5. Align the pulley set key with the key groove of the pulley.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER CAUTION .
  6. Using SST, hold the pulley in place and tighten the bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 190 N.m (140 lb ft)

  7. Install the V-ribbed belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  8. Adjust the V-ribbed belt.
  9. Inspect the V-ribbed belt.
  10. Add the engine oil.
  11. Inspect for engine oil leaks.
  12. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  13. Install the engine under cover RH.
  14. Install the front wheel RH.
