Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the front floor console assembly. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Identifying Transmission Control Shift Lever Cable & Shift Lever Assembly

  2. Disconnect the select cable from the shift lever assembly.
  3. Disconnect the shift lever cable (1) from the shift lever assembly.

    NOTE: Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.
  4. Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper (2) of the transmission control cable.

    NOTE: Do not rotate the nut excessively as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.
  5. Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180 degrees, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

  6. Remove the 4 bolts (1) and the shift lever assembly.
