Circuit/System Testing

IMPORTANT:

When removing connectors, inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion in the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:

Passenger presence module
SDM
Passenger presence module harness connector
SDM wiring harness connector

Ignition ON, verify no PPS DTCs are set.
- If any PPS DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
Verify the correct passenger presence module part number is installed in the vehicle.
- If the incorrect passenger presence module is installed, replace with the correct passenger presence module.
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the passenger presence module.
Ignition OFF, test for less then 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater then the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
Reconnect all PPS components and perform the Passenger Presence System Programming and Setup .
Clear all DTCs and operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. DTC B0081 should not set.
- If DTC B0081 sets, replace the passenger presence module.
