Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Verify that DTCs P2430, P2431, P2432, or P2433 are not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Ignition ON, command the AIR pump relay ON and OFF with a scan tool. The AIR pump should turn ON and OFF.
- If the AIR pump does not turn ON or OFF, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air injection Pump Malfunction.
- Command the AIR Solenoid relay ON and OFF with a scan tool. The AIR solenoid valve should click with each command.
- If the AIR solenoid valve does operate as specified, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve Malfunction.
- Engine running, command the AIR pump relay ON with a scan tool. Observe the AIR Pressure Sensor parameter. The reading should be 15-22 kPa above the BARO reading.
- If less than the specified range, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air Injection System Pressure Low.
- If greater than the specified range, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air Injection System Pressure High.
- Engine running, command the AIR system ON while observing the AIR Pressure Sensor parameter. The reading should be 8-15 kPa above BARO.
- If less than the specified range, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air Injection System Pressure Low
- If greater than the specified range, refer to Circuit/System Testing for Secondary Air Injection System Pressure High.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
