Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J55)

Preliminary Procedure Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation . Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement .
1	Guide Pin Bolt (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 63 N.m (46 lb ft)
2	Brake Caliper CAUTION: Refer to Brake Caliper Supporting to Prevent Hose Damage Caution . Tip: If removing the caliper to service the brake system, support the caliper with mechanics wire or a hook. DO NOT allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose. Cap or plug the brake hose to prevent the brake system to become contaminated and brake fluid leakage. Use a wheel nut to hold the rotor in place if removing the brake caliper. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) .

Preliminary Procedure

Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement .

Guide Pin Bolt (Qty: 2)

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten: 63 N.m (46 lb ft)

Brake Caliper

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Caliper Supporting to Prevent Hose Damage Caution .

Tip:

If removing the caliper to service the brake system, support the caliper with mechanics wire or a hook. DO NOT allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose.
Cap or plug the brake hose to prevent the brake system to become contaminated and brake fluid leakage.
Use a wheel nut to hold the rotor in place if removing the brake caliper.
Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) .
