Installation Procedure

  1. Apply sealant to the flywheel bolts. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  2. Place the engine flywheel in position against the crankshaft.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the flywheel bolts.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the bolts a first pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    • Tighten the bolts a final pass an additional 50 degrees using the J 45059  . See Special Tools .

  4. Remove the J 44214  from the engine block. See Special Tools .
  5. Install the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
