Removal Procedure

    WARNING: When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the rear compartment lid in the fully up position.
  2. Remove the rear compartment front trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Front Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Use the J 41358-A  in order to disconnect the torque rod from the rear compartment lid hinge. See Special Tools .
