Forward Clutch Plate Assembly and Low and Reverse Band Removal

J 39053 Forward and Coast Clutch Assembly Puller

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Rotate the transmission so that the forward clutch assembly (626-834) faces up.
Remove the two 13-mm forward clutch support bolts (5) from the case.

WARNING:

The forward and coast clutch assembly weighs approximately 50 lbs. Personal injury may result if you drop the assembly.

Install the J 39053 Forward and Coast Clutch Assembly Puller. Using a chain hoist or suitable lifting equipment, secure and lift the forward and coast clutch assembly (626-834) out of the case.

Remove the fretting ring (835).
Remove the Lo and Reverse band (13).
