Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pressure hose (1) in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the power steering pressure hose retainer (2) to the frame.
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear. Tighten the power steering pressure hose fitting to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  4. Connect the power steering pressure hose (1) to the stud on the right rear part of the cylinder head.
  5. Install the power steering pressure hose bracket nut (2) to the stud and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  6. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  7. Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Connect the power steering pressure hose (1) to the power steering pump. Tighten the power steering pressure hose fitting to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
  10. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  11. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
