Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the plug from the inlet port of the brake caliper, if necessary.
- Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose.
- Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper.
- On vehicles equipped with RPO JL9, tighten the bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- On vehicles equipped with RPO J55, tighten the bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose to the brake hose bracket.
- Install the brake hose retainer to the brake hose.
- Remove the cap from the brake pipe fitting end.
- Install the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) , Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Install NEW copper brake hose gaskets.

Refer to Fastener Caution .
CAUTION:
Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked after installation. Damage to the hose could result.
WARNING:
Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Air in the brake system can cause the loss of brakes with possible personal injury.
