Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9)

Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9)

Refer to Brake Dust Warning .

Preliminary Procedure Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (J55) , Front Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (JL9) .
1 Mounting Screw
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
12 N.m (106 lb ft)
2 Brake Rotor

Procedure

  1. If removing the brake rotor to service the brake system, mark the relationship of the rotor to a wheel stud, before removing the mounting screw.
  2. Using the J-42450-A  Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit, thoroughly clean any rust or corrosion from the mating surface of the hub/axle flange.
  3. Using the J-41013  Rotor Resurfacing Kit, thoroughly clean any rust or corrosion from the mounting surface of the brake rotor to the wheel bearing/hub.
  4. If the brake rotor was refinished or replaced, burnish the pads and rotors. Refer to Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing .
