Installation Procedure

Layout the starter solenoid cable on top of the engine.
Install the starter solenoid cable clips (1) to the left camshaft cover.

Install the starter solenoid cable terminal (3) to the generator.

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the generator terminal nut (2).
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
Position the starter solenoid cable protective boot (1) at the generator.

Install the starter solenoid cable to the starter.
Install the "S" terminal nut (2) to the starter.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
Install the "BAT" terminal nut (1) to the starter.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the starter solenoid cable to the BEC stud.
Install the nut (1) securing the starter solenoid cable to the BEC.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

Install the junction block cover.
Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .

Connect the engine harness electrical connectors (1) to the starter solenoid cable electrical connectors.
Install the front compartment sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
