Removal Procedure
- Open and support the liftgate.
- Remove the left, right, and center garnish moldings. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Center) or Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Right) or Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Left) .
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
- Disengage the four clips and remove the liftgate pull handle.
- Remove the liftgate latch. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate lock actuator. Refer to Liftgate Lock Actuator Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate outside handle. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate lock cylinder. Refer to Liftgate Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Remove wiper motor assembly. Refer to Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement .
- Remove the spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate window. Refer to Liftgate Window Replacement .
- Remove the license lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate window latch. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
- Remove the high mount stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement .
- Remove the liftgate harness.
- Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
- Place protective coverings over adjacent body panels.
- Mark the location of the liftgate hinges to the liftgate with a grease pencil.
- Remove the bolts (1) from the liftgate hinges (2), with an assistant.
- Remove the liftgate from the vehicle, with an assistant and place outside face down on a clean padded surface.
