Installation Procedure

Fig 1: Liftgate Hinge And Bolts

Position the liftgate hinges to the marked location points on the liftgate, with an assistant.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the bolts (1) to the liftgate hinges (2), with an assistant.
Tighten: Tighten the liftgate hinge bolts to 19.5 N.m (14 lb ft).
Support the liftgate.
Install the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .
Install the liftgate harness.
Install the high mount stop lamp. Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement .
Install the liftgate window latch. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
Install the license lamps. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
Install the liftgate window. Refer to Liftgate Window Replacement .
Install the spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
Install wiper motor assembly. Refer to Liftgate Wiper Motor Replacement .
Install the liftgate lock cylinder. Refer to Liftgate Lock Cylinder Replacement .
Install the liftgate outside handle. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement .

Engage the four clips and install the liftgate pull handle.
Install the liftgate lock actuator. Refer to Liftgate Lock Actuator Replacement .
Install the liftgate latch. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement .
Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
Install the left, right, and center garnish moldings. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Center) or Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Right) or Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement (Upper Left) .
