Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing

Special Tools

    NOTE: The engine should be at normal operating temperature.
  1. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (1.6L LXV) .
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Unscrew the closure bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  3. Install CH-48027  and CH-48027-9 in the hole. See Special Tools .
  4. Start the engine.
  5. Check the engine oil pressure.

    The engine oil pressure must be at least 130 kPa (18.85 psi) at idle speed and oil temperature must be greater than or equal to 27°C (80°F).
