Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Release the fuel pressure. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF .
  3. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the timing belt tensioner. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .

  6. Remove the camshaft. Refer to Camshaft Replacement .
  7. Remove the timing belt rear cover (1).
  8. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .
  9. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (1.4L LDT/1.6L LXV) .

  11. Remove the coolant distributor (1).

  13. Remove the cylinder head bolts (1).
  14. Remove the cylinder head (2) with the gasket.
