Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cylinder head (2) with the new gasket.
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the cylinder head bolts (1) and tighten to 25 N.m +90° +90° +90° +45° (18.4 lb ft +90° +90° +90° +45° ).

  3. Install the coolant distributor (1).
  4. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (1.4L LDT/1.6L LXV) .
  5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement .

  6. Install the timing belt rear cover (1) and tighten to 6 N.m (53.1 lb in).
  7. Install the camshaft. Refer to Camshaft Replacement .
  8. Adjust the belt timing. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .
