D Height Dimension Measurement Procedure

The D height dimension measurement determines the proper ride height for the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Use your hands in order to lift the rear bumper of the vehicle up approximately 38 mm (1.5 in). Gently remove your hands in order to allow the vehicle to settle.
  2. Use your hands in order to push the rear bumper of the vehicle down approximately 38 mm (1.5 in). Gently remove your hands in order to allow the vehicle to settle.
    3. IMPORTANT: Measure all dimensions vertically.
  3. Measure the D height dimension on the rear suspension for the left and the right side of the vehicle.

    Measure from the center line of the rear wheel to the center line of the rear axle pivot bolt.

  4. Compare the measurement to the specification. Refer to Trim Height Specifications .
  5. If the measurement is not within 10 mm (0.4 in) of the specification, replace the rear springs. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement (FWD) .
