Removal Procedure

- Position the transmission shift control lever to the park position.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Ensure the transmission range selector lever is positioned to mechanical park.
- Remove the range selector cable retaining clip (2).
- Remove the range selector cable (3) from the range selector cable bracket (1) at the transmission.
- Remove the range selector cable (3) from the transmission range selector lever ball stud (4).
- Lower the vehicle and ensure that the shift lever is still in the park position.
- Remove the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
- Remove the range selector cable end (2) from the transmission shift control lever ball stud.
- Remove the range selector cable (1) from the transmission shift control lever housing.
- Remove the range selector cable grommet (1) from the floor panel.
- Remove the range selector cable from the vehicle.
