Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement (Service and Repair).

Parking Brake:

2. Remove the park brake lever (1). Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine) (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.
5. Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
6. Remove the front park brake cable (9) from the equalizer (8).



Installation Procedure

Parking Brake:

1. Install the front park brake cable (9) to the equalizer (8).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.

Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N.m (48.68 lb in).

3. Install the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.

Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N.m (48.68 lb in).

4. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LV6 Engine) (Service and Repair).
5. Install the park brake lever (1). Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement (Service and Repair).
