Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
2. Remove the adjusting hardware (7,9,10,23,24) with the shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) (Service and Repair).



Installation Procedure





1. Apply Lubriplate(R) Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109, Canadian P/N 5264008, or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the backing plate (1) and the adjuster strut (3).
2. Assemble the adjuster strut (2,3,4).




3. Install the adjusting hardware (7,9,10,23,24) with the shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD) (Service and Repair).
4. Install the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
