Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side  or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  2. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement .
  3. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .

  4. Remove the lifter guide bolts.
  5. Remove the lifter guide.
    6. IMPORTANT: Place the valve lifters in an organized order to ensure that they are installed in the same location from which they were removed.
  6. Remove the lifters.
