Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the valve lifters using prelube GM P/N 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or the equivalent.
  2. Install the valve lifters in their original locations.
  3. Install the lifter guide.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or the equivalent to the lifter guide bolt threads and install the bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  6. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement .
  7. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left Side  or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  8. Inspect for leaks.
