Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Right Side
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Install a new gasket to the valve rocker arm cover. Ensure that the gasket is properly seated in the groove of the valve rocker arm cover.
- Apply sealer GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent to the joint surfaces (1) where the cylinder head and intake manifold meet.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the PCV fresh air tube (529).
- Install the ignition module studs (701).
Tighten: Tighten the ignition module studs to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the ignition module with the ignition wires still attached (700).
- Install the ignition module nuts (702) and bolts (703).
Tighten: Tighten the ignition module nuts and bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fresh air tube and wire harness retaining bolt (557).
Tighten: Tighten the fresh air tube and wire harness retaining bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Install the heater outlet pipe (309).
- Install the heater outlet pipe nuts and bolt (310, 311, 318) to the upper intake manifold.
Tighten:
- Tighten the heater outlet pipe nuts (310) and bolt (311) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Tighten the heater outlet pipe nut (318) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Tighten the throttle body bolts (515) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the heater outlet pipe hose and hose clamp to the pipe.
- Install the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (506), clip (505), and bolt (504) to the intake.
Tighten: Tighten the MAP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
IMPORTANT:
All gasket-mating surfaces need to be free of oil and foreign material. Use P/N 12378392 or equivalent to clean surfaces.
IMPORTANT:
Apply sealant GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent, at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.
