J 24086-C  Piston Pin Remover/Installer Set. See Special Tools .

    IMPORTANT: This procedure is to be used for oversized pistons only. Standard size pistons are supplied as an assembly consisting of a piston, piston pin, connecting rod and piston rings.
  1. Using piston ring pliers, remove the piston rings from the piston.

  3. Install fork insert J 24086-310 into fixture J 24086-10 piston pin remover/installer base, which are part of J 24086-C  . See Special Tools .

  5. Install the piston and connecting rod assembly onto J 24086-10.
  6. Install the J 24086-107 onto the piston pin and J 24086-88A through the fixture and onto J 24086-107, which are part of J 24086-C  . See Special Tools .

    NOTE: After the installer hub bottoms on the support assembly, do not exceed 35 000 kPa (5,000 psi) pressure, this could cause damage to the tool.
  8. Press the piston pin from the piston and connecting rod assembly.
  9. The piston and pin are a matched set and are not to be serviced separately. Mark, sort organize the piston and the matching piston pin.
