Exhaust Manifold Installation - Left Side

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the exhaust manifold studs.
Tighten: Tighten the exhaust manifold studs to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
Install the exhaust manifold.
Install the exhaust manifold nuts in sequence.
Tighten: Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in sequence working from the center out to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
Install the left side spark plugs.
Tighten: Tighten the spark plugs to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve gasket (615) and the EGR assembly (612, 614) to the upper intake manifold.
Install the EGR valve bolts (616).
Tighten: Tighten the EGR valve bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
Install the EGR pipe gasket (610) and pipe (612) to the left exhaust manifold.
Install the EGR pipe bolts (616).
Tighten: Tighten the EGR pipe bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
