Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the right hand axle. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .
    3. Fig 1: View Of Crankshaft Position Sensor & Knock Sensor Electrical Connectors

  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the crankshaft position sensor (2) and the knock sensor (1).

  4. Remove the bolts from the transfer case mounting bracket and engine.
  5. Remove the bracket.
