Installation Procedure

  1. Install the accelerator pedal assembly to the brake pedal bracket. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .

  3. Install the brake pedal assembly into the vehicle, while guiding the brake pedal bracket pilot bushings into the foam insulator panel.
  4. Position the booster studs through dash panel.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install the brake pedal bracket-to-steering column bracket bolt and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  7. Loosely install the brake booster mounting nuts.
  8. Apply a thin coating of lithium grease to the pushrod pin on the brake pedal.

  10. Connect the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal.
  11. Install the washer and retaining clip to the brake pedal.

  13. Tighten the vacuum brake booster mounting nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  15. Install the steering column bracket to cowl nut and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  16. Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.

  18. Connect the accelerator pedal assembly electrical connector.
  19. Install the communication interface module, if equipped. Refer to Communication Interface Module Replacement .
  20. Install the left side instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
