Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Torrent and 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Remove the protective caps from the condenser.
  2. Add the specified amount of polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil to the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  3. Install new O-rings to the receiver dehydrator. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  4. Install the receiver dehydrator to the condenser.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the lower receiver dehydrator bolt to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 6.5 N.m (58 lb in).

  8. Install the receiver dehydrator mounting clamp to the condenser.
  9. Install the receiver dehydrator mounting clamp bolt to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 4.2 N.m (37 lb in).

  10. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (SS) or Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Torrent) or Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Equinox) .
  11. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  12. Test the affected A/C joints for leaks using J 39400-A  . See Special Tools .
