Preliminary Procedures Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement . Remove the center trim bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement . Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement . Disconnect the shift control cable. Refer to Shift Control Cable Replacement . Disconnect the shift control electrical connector.
1	Shift Control Nut (Qty: 4) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Remove the shift control lever knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement .
Remove the center trim bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement .
Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
Disconnect the shift control cable. Refer to Shift Control Cable Replacement .
Disconnect the shift control electrical connector.

Shift Control Nut (Qty: 4)

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten: 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
