Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Torrent and 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the left splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  4. Remove the front engine mount. Refer to Engine Front Mount Replacement .
  5. Remove the transaxle oil cooler lines and seals from the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Seal Replacement .

    NOTE: Do not pry with a tool on the transaxle control valve body cover, case or sealing surfaces.
  6. Remove the 9 TORX bolts (2) from the control valve body cover (1).
  7. Remove control valve body cover.
