Control Valve Body Assembly Installation

- Rotate the transmission assembly so that the I.D. tag is facing up.
- Install 2 new case fluid passage seals (86) into the transmission case fluid ports.
- Shift the transmission into Neutral (N).
- While holding the control valve body assembly (39), connect the manual valve link (336) to the manual shift detent lever assembly (710).
- Install the 6 control valve body assembly to transmission case bolts and hand tighten.
- 2 - M6 x 1.0 x 16 mm (34)
- 2 - M6 x 1.0 x 28 mm (35)
- 2 - M6 x 1.0 x 55 mm (47)
- Tighten the control valve body assembly to transmission case bolts in sequence. Tighten the control valve body assembly to transmission case bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install a new control valve body fluid passage cover gasket (38).
- Install the control valve body fluid passage cover (37).
- Install the 2 - M6 x 1.0 x 50 mm control valve body bolts. Tighten the control valve body bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
CAUTION:
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
