- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the BCM.
- Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the INT LAMPS fuse B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Ignition OFF, connect the X4 harness connector at the BCM.
- Ignition ON, with a scan tool clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connectors at the following components:
- Cargo lamp
- Dome lamp
- Dome lamp switch
- Overhead console courtesy/reading lamps
- Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC and verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets, test the appropriate control circuit listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Cargo lamp terminal B
- Dome lamp terminal A - without UUC
- Dome lamp terminal C - without UUC
- Dome lamp switch terminal A - with UUC
- Overhead console courtesy/reading lamps terminal C
- If the DTC resets, test the appropriate control circuit listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Reconnect each component one at a time and verify the DTC does not reset as current.
- If the DTC resets as current, test or replace the component responsible for setting the DTC.
