Installation Procedure

    NOTE: All gasket mating surfaces need to be free of oil and foreign material. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  for the correct part number to use to clean surfaces.
    NOTE: Apply sealer at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  for the correct part number.
  1. Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joints (1).

  2. Install a new gasket to the valve rocker arm cover. Ensure the gasket is properly seated in the groove of the valve rocker arm cover.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the valve rocker arm cover and tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the PCV fresh air pipe (1) to the right valve rocker arm cover.
  5. Install the ignition control module bracket with the ignition control module and spark plug wired still attached. Refer to Ignition Control Module Bracket Replacement .
  6. Install the generator bracket. Refer to Generator Bracket and Engine Lift Bracket Replacement (LNJ) .
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
