Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Apply GM sealant around the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 in) below the bead. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  for the correct part number.

  3. Install the oil level indicator tube (2) into the engine block.
    4. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt (3) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  5. Install the oil level indicator (1).
