Conditions for Setting the DTC: P0118

The ECM detects that the ECT is less than -42°C (-43.6°F) at engine start up and increases less than 2°C (4°F) within 2 seconds of engine run time. the condition exists for greater than 1 second or a cumulative of 10 seconds. The scan tool is limited to -40°C (-40°F), so the diagnostic procedure uses -39°C (-38°F) to determine if there is an ECT condition.
