Front Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement

WARNING: Refer to Brake Dust Warning . CAUTION: Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak. Preliminary Procedures Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation . Without disconnecting the brake caliper flexible hose, remove the brake caliper and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement . Remove the brake pads.
1	Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure If reusing the brake caliper bracket bolt, prepare the bracket bolt as follows: Thoroughly clean the threadlocker residue from the bracket bolt threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry. Thoroughly clean the threadlocker residue from the caliper bracket threaded holes with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry. Apply high-temperature, high-strength threadlocker to 2/3 of the threaded length of the bracket bolt. Ensure there are no gaps in the threadlocker along the length of the filled area of the bracket bolt. Allow the threadlocker to cure approximately 10 minutes before installing the bracket bolts. Tighten: 185 N.m (136 lb ft)

Preliminary Procedures

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Without disconnecting the brake caliper flexible hose, remove the brake caliper and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .
Remove the brake pads.

Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (Qty: 2)

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

If reusing the brake caliper bracket bolt, prepare the bracket bolt as follows:
1. Thoroughly clean the threadlocker residue from the bracket bolt threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
2. Thoroughly clean the threadlocker residue from the caliper bracket threaded holes with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
Apply high-temperature, high-strength threadlocker to 2/3 of the threaded length of the bracket bolt.
Ensure there are no gaps in the threadlocker along the length of the filled area of the bracket bolt.
Allow the threadlocker to cure approximately 10 minutes before installing the bracket bolts.

Tighten: 185 N.m (136 lb ft)
