Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 GE 47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ GE 47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ Static Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) .
  2. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipes. Refer to Heater Inlet Pipe Replacement (LY7)  or Heater Inlet Pipe Replacement (LNJ)  and Heater Outlet Pipe Replacement (RPO LY7)  or Heater Outlet Pipe Replacement (RPO LNJ) .
  3. Remove the thermostat housing bolts (1).
  4. Remove the housing.
  5. Remove the thermostat (3) and discard the thermostat seal (4).
