Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Pontiac Torrent and 2009 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the fan assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Return the condenser and radiator assembly to the mounted position.

  4. Install the fan assembly to the radiator by guiding the lower tabs into the corresponding hooks on the radiator.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the fan assembly bolts to the radiator and tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  8. Install the radiator inlet hose (2) to the radiator.
  9. Install the radiator inlet hose clamp (1) to the radiator.

  11. Clip the transmission cooler lines to the fan assembly.
  12. Connect the transmission cooler lines to the radiator.

  14. Install the CRFM mounting brackets to the radiator support.
  15. Install the CRFM mounting bracket bolts to the radiator support and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  16. Install the front impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .

  18. Install the CRFM closeout panel to the condenser.
  19. Install the CRFM closeout panel retainers to the condenser.

  21. Clip the engine wire harness to fan assembly.
  22. CAUTION: The compressor hose must maintain a minimum clearance of 20 mm (0.8 in) from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe. If this minimum clearance is not maintained, damage to the compressor hose may result.
  23. Install the electrical connectors to the fan motors.
  24. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (SS) or Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Torrent) or Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Equinox) .
  25. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 GE 47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ GE 47716 Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ Static Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) .
