Removal Procedure

Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 GE 47716 Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ GE 47716 Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LNJ Static Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) .
Remove the coolant heater cord from the heater.

NOTE: Do not score the surface of the engine block hole when removing the coolant heater.

Remove the coolant heater from the block.
