Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the BCM.
  2. Ignition ON, verify the security indicator is not illuminated.
    • If the security indicator is illuminated, test the control circuit terminal 7 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  3. Install a 10A fused jumper wire between the control circuit terminal 7 and ground. Verify the security indicator is illuminated.
    • If the security indicator is not illuminated, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
