Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

If previously removed, install the exhaust manifold studs and tighten to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

Install the exhaust manifold gasket (1).
Install the exhaust manifold (2).
Install the exhaust manifold nuts (3) and tighten to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield (1).
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the EGR pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Replacement .
Install the 3 nuts attaching the exhaust crossover pipe to the left exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (LNJ) .
