Rear Compartment Lid Buttress Latch Release Cable Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement (Solstice) or Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement (SKY) .

1. Disconnect the buttress cable from the folding top rear latches.
2. Use a trim panel removal tool to disconnect the remainder of the buttress latch release cable from the decklid where fastened in by plastic retainers.
3. Disconnect the cable at the right wheel well area inside the rear compartment and loosen it from any body retainers.
4. Pull the pass-through grommet loose and remove the cable from the vehicle entirely.
5. Reverse the procedure to install the buttress latch release cable.
6. An adjustment may need to be made after the actuator cable is replaced. If an adjustment is needed use the adjustment procedure found in the service information. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Buttress Latch Release Cable Adjustment .
