Rocker Panel Molding Replacement (GXP)

Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Open both side doors on the side the lower rocker molding is being replaced.
  2. Release one retainer each at the forward end of the front rocker and one retainer at the rear end of the rear rocker panel molding.
  3. Release the lower retainers securing the front and rear lower rocker panel molding to the rocker panel.
  4. Release the 2 upper retainers at the front end of the forward rocker panel molding flange at the fender.
  5. Release the upper inside retainers from the top edge of both front and rear rocker panels.
  6. Remove both front and rear rocker panel moldings from the vehicle.
  7. Release the retainers securing the weatherstrip to both front and rear rocker panel moldings.
  8. Separate the rear rocker panel molding from the front by disengaging the inside retainer tabs on the rear rocker panel molding.

2 Front Rocker Panel Molding Lower Retainers (Qty: 3)
3 Rear Rocker Panel Molding Lower Retainers (Qty: 2)
4 Front Rocker Panel Molding Flange Retainers (Qty: 2)
5 Front Rocker Panel Molding Upper Retainers (Qty: 5)
6 Rear Rocker Panel Molding Upper Retainers (Qty: 3)
7 Front Rocker Panel Lower Molding
8 Rear Rocker Panel Lower Molding
Tip:  Assemble the rear rocker panel molding to the front rocker panel molding prior to installing the rocker panel molding to the vehicle.
9 Weatherstrip Retainers (Qty: 14)
10 Rocker Panel Molding Weatherstrip
Tip:  Secure the weatherstrip to both sections of the lower rocker panel molding after the 2 halves have been assembled.
