Change Oil Soon

The driver information center (DIC) illuminates the CHANGE OIL SOON message in the DIC when it determines that the engine oil life is less than 5 percent. The powertrain control module (PCM) or engine control module (ECM) sends a serial data messages to the DIC requesting illumination. After the engine oil is changed, reset the engine oil monitor.
