Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (With A/C)  or Drive Belt Replacement (Without A/C) .
  2. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Install the J 43653  (1) to the engine block, in order to hold the flywheel. See Special Tools .

  5. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer. Discard the bolt.
  6. Remove the balancer using a universal removal tool.
